This superb stage will feature different contests that are dedicated to trades in the sectors of pastry and ice cream making! 

‘Maison de la Pâtisserie et Glacerie’ presents several international contests on the theme of sugar. Participants will perform the most dazzling creations according to different topical themes. 
In collaboration with ‘Maison de Pâtisserie du Rhône’, this stage will propose three different contests:
 

13th EUROPEAN SUGAR CHAMPIONSHIP 

Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th January 2019 
12 participants from around the world will work on raw sugar to create a masterpiece on the theme “Sustainable and urban pollination” 
President of the Jury Jérôme LANGILIER, World Pastry Champion 
 

4th FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP OF GOURMAND ART 

Monday 28th to Tuesday 29th January 2019 
Under the presidency of Laurent LE DANIEL with Gabriel PAILLASSON as Honorary President, come and encourage the young teams for the title of “Champion of France of Gourmet Art!” 
Theme: “Homage to Paul Bocuse”. 

The tests 
Pastry:
Creation of two desserts based on vanilla and fruits as well as an original artistic piece made with poured and moulded sugar. 

Chocolate:
Creation of an artistic piece made of chocolate and 4 types of chocolate bonbons.

Ice cream:
Execution of an artistic piece made of nougatine and pastillage as well as two frozen desserts/lime fruit and 4 frozen desserts presented on plate, as a variation of the dessert.
 

9th EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP OF FROZEN DESSERTS 


30th January 2019
6 participants will share the stage to present an artistic and gourmet creation combining ice cream, nougatine and chocolate. 
The tests will last 7 hours. Under the presidency of Ludovic MERCER, MOF, the judges will assess the work of the gourmand artists. The theme for the tests is “sustainable and urban pollination”.
