Delivery : A Rolling Case, for Early Birds and Breakfast too!

Dinner and breakfast energize the delivery market - Millenials lead the way
Delivered orders show 20% growth in 2018

The NPD Group, one of the world's leading market research companies, and Sirha official research partner, as studied the delivery of food in France. The sector is performing better than ever, recording a 20% growth in commercial catering (figures to September 2018), thanks in large part to fast food restaurants. As a true social phenomenon, the delivery currently totals 160 million visits in commercial catering (excluding canteens), or 3% of total market visits. And it tarts early in the morning!

Although it concentrates only 17% of orders, breakfast records an increase of over 15% in one year - a leap forward that allows the breakfast delivered to establish itself as a new growth driver in bakeries/sandwich shops. However, the highlight of meal delivery is undeniably dinner, which alone accounts for half of the orders (49%), and is progressing with the same dynamism as breakfast in one year.
Breakfast is however a very promising leverage for all circuits of the out of home sector, whether in -store or delivery. NPD has synthetized in a simple infographics the different drivers of this booming consumption moment, and the best-sellers of turnover all over the world
